“Bayou Bash” Pork Barbeque
The first annual “Bayou Bash” pork barbeque was a very successful inaugural event. The pork barbeque was held September 13th from 11AM to 1PM on the front lawn of the church. Aided by warm temperatures and a beautiful Saturday morning we were able to take in over $1400 for the dinner. After expenses we should be able to contribute approximately $900 to Operation Southern Comfort to aid in the rebuilding of homes and lives in the hurricane-ravaged gulf coast states.
Thank you to the Missions Committee and to all those who helped out doing food preparation Friday evening. Thank you to everyone who assisted in setting up for the event, served the food and cleaned up on Saturday. A special thank you to Michael Drahos for providing the informational displays and videos explaining Operation Southern Comfort. The event would not have been possible without Rev. Kelly’s world famous pork barbeque. We thank him for his many hours spent preparing the pork bbq for this event.
We hope that this first small step as a pork barbeque dinner can evolve into a major fundraiser for our church missions in the future. Thank you again to everyone for their wonderful support of this event and the many hours of fellowship enjoyed putting on this barbeque.
