Colleagues and Coworkers:

I have attached a report that I recently received from three Conference Minister colleagues, John Deckenback, Jim Antal and Roddy Dunkerson, who have recently returned from a mission trip on which they visited partners in the Middle East.

This is a very informative update, with particular emphasis on Iraqi refugees in Syria, describing how UCC mission dollars are being spent to alleviate suffering and advocate for peace in that part of the world. It provides insight into the daily life of Christians and Muslims and Jews in Palestine and Israel as well as insight regarding interfaith efforts at peace making and reconciliation. The conclusions reached in this report offer clarity as to how concerned Christians in the U.S. can respond appropriately.

Reading this report has been helpful to me and I commend to you for your late summer reading and reflection.

Peace and blessings,

Geoffrey
